Barney’s New York

660 Madison Avenue @ 61st Street

Known for extremely expensive, expertly tailored, and eminently desirable men’s clothing, Barney’s is the archetype of a certain kind of New York class. Named after Barney Pressman, who founded it in 1923, the store was originally located at 7th Avenue and 17th Street and moved to its current location at Madison Avenue and 61st Street in the 1990s. Since the store was founded, Barney’s has expanded into women’s clothes and housewares, but their irreproachable style remains the same.
