Location: Riverside Drive, from 72nd to 129th Streets, Manhattan

Another masterpiece of landscaping from Frederick Law Olmsted, this terraced park carries visitors down to the edge of the Hudson River in a series of gentle paths and beautiful old stone steps. The Hudson River Greenway, New York’s best jogging path, goes through the park along the river’s edge and takes runners past trees, playgrounds, small fields, Grant’s Tomb, the 79th Street Boat Basin, and the nearby Rotunda Cafe.
