The American Craft Museum is the premier museum in the nation for 20th century crafts. They display work in a variety of mediums such as blown glass, pottery, handmade textiles, quilts, woodwork, baskets, and jewelry and showcase the diversity and richness of contemporary craft. The museum was opened in 1956. Changing exhibitions represent artisans and cultures from throughout the country, with a slight emphasis on the arts of the Southwest. The museum also sponsors classes and lectures, including occasional hands–on workshops led by artists.
