Brighton Beach

Brooklyn

The Brooklyn neighborhood of Brighton Beach is nicknamed “Little Odessa” after the many Ukranian and Russian emigrants who settled here in the past century. The beach was a thriving resort town through the 1920s, and today remains one of the nicest spots in Brooklyn to enjoy the Atlantic, accessible by the subway but not quite as crowded as the beaches of Coney Island to the east.
